Laser Treatment

No shot! No drill! No fear!

Dr. Nirav Shah is proud to provide treatment using Biolase - The World’s Most Advanced Laser Technology!

Lasers have been used in dentistry since 1994 to treat a number of dental problems. The application of lasers in dentistry has opened the door for dentists to perform a wide variety of dental procedures they otherwise may not be capable of performing. If you consider yourself somewhat of an anxious dental patient and are seeking extreme safety and comfort, laser technology is for you!

How do Lasers Work in Dentistry?

All lasers work by delivering energy in the form of light. When used for surgical and dental procedures, the laser acts as a cutting instrument or a vaporizer of tissue that it comes in contact with. When used for “curing” a filling, the laser helps to strengthen the bond between the filling and the tooth. When used in teeth whitening procedures, the laser acts as an activator and enhances the effect of tooth whitening agents.

Benefits of Laser Dentistry

  • Avoid the stress of drills and needles; certain laser dentistry procedures do not require anesthesia.

  • Procedures performed using soft tissue dental lasers may not require suture (stitches).

  • Laser dentistry minimizes bleeding and swelling during soft tissue treatments.

  • Bacterial infections are minimized because the high-energy beam sterilizes the area being worked on.

  • Damage to surrounding tissue is minimized.

  • Wounds heal faster and tissues can be regenerated.

  • Fewer dental visits, less time in the dental chair!

Laser Procedures

  • Dreamscape Dental uses the laser to perform radiant same day teeth whitening treatments on our patients. This involves the use of a versatile, accurate, and reliable dental diode laser along with a patented whitening gel. The BIOLASE diode laser activates the whitening gel after it has been applied evenly to the teeth. Professional laser treatments delivers smile that achieves your aesthetic goals in one simple visit. The treatment period of BIOLASE laser dentistry is significantly shorter than traditional teeth whitening procedures, and results are almost immediately apparent. Most people experience significantly greater shade difference with BIOLASE laser dentistry when compared to other teeth whitening treatments with reduced side effects. Bleaching with our diode laser results in less teeth and gum sensitivity , which helps reduce recovery time and provide more instant gratification without the pain. BIOLASE laser dentistry is also very safe, so you can beautify your smile with total confidence.

  • The BIOLASE also provides a deep tissue laser that Dr. Nirav Shah uses to help patients with early TMJ Disorder. The energy of the laser penetrates deep into the joint allowing for a reduction in inflammation and stimulation of healing. This treatment includes 3 reasonably-priced sessions Insurance does not cover this procedure.) and each patient who completes the series has reported remarkable results.

  • The dental laser can prevent the eruption of unsightly and painful cold sores and fever blisters that erupt on your lips when under stress or exposed to the sun. If our patients schedule an appointment the moment they feel the common tingly sensation associated with cold sores, the dental laser will prevent the eruption of the blister. If the blister or cold sore has already erupted, the dental laser can reduce pain and swelling, as well as the eventual healing time. The dental laser can also treat painful mouth sores caused by accidents and trauma on your cheeks, tongue, or lips. All of these procedures are virtually pain free and do not require any anesthetic or numbing shots. The treatments are typically quick and effective procedures which the Dreamscape Dental team can schedule at your earliest convenience.

  • Dr. Nirav Shah (always a link, by the way) and the Dreamscape Dental Team (always a link too) can reduce the sensitivity of our patients teeth, especially along the gum line with the BIOLASE laser. When exposed to cold or sweet food, root surfaces can be very sensitive and painful. With the use of the dental laser, our highly-trained team can destroy the bacteria in the dentinal tubes and seal the root to decrease and eliminate tooth sensitivity.

  • Biolase Waterlase uses the Hydrokinetic process which gently washes away decay with YSGG laser-energized water droplets. Hydrokinetic energy is produced by combining a spray of atomized water with laser energy.

The resulting Waterlase (HydroKinetic) energy gently and precisely removes a wide range of human tissue including tooth enamel (the hardest substance in the body), and soft tissue (gum tissue) with no heat or discomfort in most cases.

Heat and vibration are the causes of most of the discomfort associated with the drill. Since Hydrokinetic cutting does not transmit heat or vibration,

MANY DENTAL PROCEDURES CAN BE PERFORMED WITHOUT ANESTHESIA, IN MOST CASES.

The laser's pinpoint accuracy is precise enough that we can leave in place as much healthy tooth structure as possible, allowing you to keep your own teeth longer. There is no damage to adjacent areas like lips, tongue, eyes.
